It always amazes me when people support Trump and then are genuinely surprised when he stabs them in the proverbial back. When Trump had Tiger Woods at the White House recently to honor Black History Month, he claimed to have won 40% of the Black vote. Of course, the actual data does not support this statement. However, he did receive support from about 25 percent of Black men and his support amongst Black males under the age of 45 actually doubled from 2020. Yet despite these claims of being so supportive of the Black population, he just fired Gen. CQ Brown Jr. as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was only the second Black man to hold that position. The first being General Colin Powell. General Brown was a well-respected, accomplished military officer and history making pilot. Why was a very qualified individual fired? Could it be because he happened to be the wrong race? Just ask the new Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who in one of his books questioned whether Gen Brown got the position simply because he was Black. It just begs the question, why do these Black men continue to apologize for and support this racist President and the regime he has put in place.
If I were a female member of the military today, I would be very, very wary about their new boss, Pete Hegseth, and his ultimate goal. Secretary Hegseth just fired Admiral Lisa Franchetti from the Navy’s top job, Chief of Naval Operations. Why was this very qualified person fired? Could it be because she was the wrong gender? He has made statements that he does not believe women should be allowed in combat roles in the U.S. military and has further stated that he believes, without evidence I might add, that standards have been lowered to allow women in combat roles. This misogynistic viewpoint does not bode well for all the women currently serving in the military. Will he reverse the decision made in 2013 to allow women into combat roles. No one should be surprised if he does and if he does it will be done with the full support and backing of the Misogynist in Chief, Trump.
All the Palestinians and Arabs who supported Trump because they believed Trump’s lies must now be scratching their heads given that Trump is now saying he wants to take over Gaza, make a resort and displace 2 million Palestinians forever. Would they have voted for him if he had said that during the campaign? Of course not? It’s just another example of Trump telling a group of people what they want to hear and not meaning a word of it. Once he got elected, he no longer cares what these people think. Does anyone else see a pattern here?
Elon Musk grew up in apartheid South Africa and was famously photographed giving his famous Nazi-like salute. That gesture was recently exhibited again by Steve Bannon at the CPAC. Musk has been a vocal supported of Germany’s far-right party AfD, which associated with the Neo-Nazis in Germany.
I just don’t understand how much evidence people need to conclude that Trump, Musk, Hegseth, and others in this administration are racist and misogynist in their thinking and their actions. If you are a white Christian male, who feels threatened by existing in a diverse racial and gender world, then I guess Trump world is where you belong. However, if you don’t check all three of those boxes – white, Christian, or male – it boggles my mind to understand how you can support this regime. The evidence seems overwhelming that they are intent on creating a nation where white, wealthy, Christian men are the driving force behind everything.
It happened in Russia. It happened in Hungary. And it is now happening here right before our eyes and the United States Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court are Missing in Action when they are supposed to be the checks and balances to presidential power. Trump and his circus of incompetent clowns will not Make American Great Again but they will make a few people even richer, especially if you are white, Christian, and male. For everyone else, you’re on your own!
