This administration has demonstrated more foolishness and incompetence in the first three months of its existence than any administration during my lifetime. Trump initiated a global trade war that managed to crater the economy and the stock market in a matter of weeks, not to mention alienating all our long-time allies. When I sadly look at my investment portfolio today, all the gains made over the last three years were wiped out in Trump’s first 100 days.  And I’m sure I’m not alone.

In addition to alienating our long-time allies and cozying up to Russia, Trump has also threatened Greenland, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and Panama with military invasions to take over control of each of them. He has threatened to bomb drug cartels in Mexico which, by the way, is another sovereign nation. In addition, he insulted our closest neighbor, Canada, by threatening to make it the 51st state of the United States. The result of that and his tariffs has resulted in a significant drop in Canadian tourism and a boycott of American products.

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, had her purse stolen when she was out to dinner. Let me repeat that; she is the Secretary of Homeland Security, and she can’t even secure her purse? She said it was a “very professional job.”  No shit! America’s adversaries are salivating at the incompetence that has now permeated the government. Not only was there cash in the purse but her passport and her government access badge! Could it be that some sophisticated, “very professional” people who took the purse might try to use the badge to create other badges that could be used by bad actors? She can couch it in whatever terms she wants, but I’d feel more secure if we had a Secretary of Homeland Security who wasn’t so careless.

Then of course there is Pete Hegseth. Not only has he been caught at least twice discussing sensitive military information that is surely classified over the commercial app, Signal, but he had his wife, brother, and personal lawyer on one of those chat sessions and a journalist on the other. There is no way they have a ‘need to know,’ let alone the requisite clearances. There are at least two parts to being able to access classified information. First, it is necessary to have proper clearance. Second, you must have a ‘need to know.’  Just because someone has a Top-Secret clearance, does not mean they can have access to anything labeled ‘Top Secret.’  If they don’t have a ‘need to know,’ they are still prohibited from accessing that information.

It has also been reported that Hegseth asked that the Signal app be installed on his computer at work that is connected to the internet. If that is true, it is opening the door to huge security breaches, and it also shows Hegseth’s blatant disregard for using secure communications and the preservation of government records. Our allies will be hesitant to provide sensitive information to the US and our adversaries who are “very professional” will be tapping into Hegseth’s communications with the same ease with which they stole Kristi Noem’s purse. The incompetence is breathtaking.

Elon Musk has been slashing and burning his way through government agencies with his merry little band of hackers compiling all kinds of personal data and everyone in the country and simultaneously trying to replace government contracts with contracts that will benefit his own companies like Starlink. There is absolutely no accountability or clear record of whatever these hackers are doing and Musk, himself, is involved in one of the biggest conflicts of interest issues that the government has ever faced. It’s insane.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr is making America sicker than ever. The measles outbreak continues to expand, and Kennedy continues to slash away at almost anything based upon science and replace it with quackery. There is little doubt the mortality rate under this administration will increase. It is unconscionable!

Trump and his minions have been talking for years about the ‘deep state.’  The fact is, there is no ‘deep state.’  However, Trump and his incompetent clowns have landed us all in a pile of deep shit and are trying to pass a law against using shovels to clean up the mess. The whole thing smells like we are downwind from a stockyard on a muggy day!
